The Making of Doctor Who’s Most Notoriously Bad Special Effects
Behold, the reason so many people diss the original Doctor Who and its horrendous special effects. The disastrous dinosaur effects in the Who story “Invasion of the Dinosaurs” are legendary, and here’s a clip from the new DVD featurette exploring just how they went so wrong. And they did go so very, very wrong.

The first ever episode of Doctor Who debuted on the BBC exactly 48 years ago, on November 23rd, 1963.
It was 48 years ago today that Doctor Who taught so many of us to play.
CSI: Gallifrey of the Day: YouTuber Sunnseanicarts casts David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor as the lead investigator in the latest CSI spinoff: CSI: Gallifrey.
Fortunately, the Doctor is no stranger to delivering one-liners.
Doctor Who Regeneration Supercut of the Day: As Doctor Who fans know, the Doctor’s death means he regenerates into a new, younger body (and is played by a new actor).
It’s happened 10 times since 1963, and Brian Rimmer’s Doctor Who regeneration supercut shows all of them, back to back.
The effects get fancier, but the sadness of seeing the Doctor die (and the silliness of seeing him come back to life) never changes.

Pre-Order of the Day: Since you probably aren’t planning any time travel this year, live vicariously through these Doctor Who Character Building Sets.
The TARDIS (above), Progenitor Room, and The Time of Angels are only available for pre-order until July, but, until that summer day when all three hit your doorstep, you can just stare at ‘em after the jump.
